"Giving without expectation leads to receiving without limitation." - Charles F. Glassman
From my own experiences, I've shared with you my ups and downs. My wisdom to observe & take note of things around yourself, and to lead you as the reader, to engage with your surroundings. Open the window, listen to the birds. Hear the rain bouncing off the blacktop. Listen (not eavesdrop) to what's around you at all times. Trust, it'd keep you sharply focused on that alone.
Now, back to the heading on "not living with expectations", overall meaning, is to simply BE. Don't do things to get something out of it but to simply BE and if its recognized, say your work ethic, relationships, or first encounters, etc. KNOW IT WILL BE NOTICED AND YOU'D BE REWARDED IF ITS MEANT FOR YOU!
Understand if it happens to someone one else and not you doesn't mean you're not working hard enough to achieve the same thing. Maybe there's something greater for you but you may need to be slightly more patient to be at the receiving end of it. Don't lose nor dumb yourself down to be in a (crab mindset) - Negative mind that brings others down (hater). DON'T BE THAT PERSON. Never.
ALWAYS be yourself. If you notice to be at the short end of the stick, maybe it's time to speak up for yourself to have those boundaries understood so there's nothing left in the wind to complain about. Know what's for you and what isn't. Outgrowing things is growth for you & that will reward you all in itself. The little things, like a compliment, a random act of kindness, a friendly reminder, a helping hand, silence, etc. Hope you catch my drift & I hope this helps.

WE ARE SO FREAKING SMALL; OUR PROBLEMS WE CREATE ARE LITERALLY NOTHING.
Live. Learn. Be.
